- How long until I hear back from someone?
- Within one to two business days, always from a real person. If your inquiry comes in over a weekend or holiday, we'll be in touch the next working day.
- Do you take on every book?
- No. We turn down projects when we don't think we can genuinely help, wrong genre fit, unrealistic expectations, or a book that simply isn't ready yet. If we say yes, it's because we believe in the work and know what to do with it.
- How much does a typical engagement cost?
- Most engagements start in the low four figures and scale with scope. We quote per project after our first conversation, because every book and every author is different. We'll never quote you before we understand what you actually need.
- Do I have to commit before the first conversation?
- Absolutely not. The first conversation is free, no pressure, no quota. If we're a fit, we'll write up a proposal. If we're not, we'll point you toward someone who is.
- Can I just email instead of using the form?
- Of course. Write to theshepherdspages@gmail.com directly. Both routes land in the same inbox, read by the same people.
- What if my book is already published?
- Most of our clients come to us after launch. Backlist optimization is one of the highest-ROI things you can do, sometimes more so than working on a new release.
- Do you work with international authors?
- Yes. We work with authors across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Europe. Amazon SEO and Goodreads are global surfaces, and our outreach networks reach English-language publications worldwide.
- Will my book details stay confidential?
- Yes. Anything you share with us, manuscript, sales figures, plans, frustrations, stays between us. We're glad to sign an NDA before any sensitive material changes hands.
